Tech Inquiry Presentations

Today in class, Josh, Karena, Emma and I presented our tech Inquiry projected to the class. We had the class view two classroom blogs and review them; we followed by asking what they thought was good and bad about each blog. Our blog posts can be viewed on the tech inquiry tab.

We also had presentations on:

  • Photography
  • Assistive Technology
  • Classroom Blogging

Distributed Learning and Assistive Technology

What are your experiences with Distributed learning:

I took an online course in highschool and I was not particularly impressed with it at all. I remember my friends who had taken the same course in class, struggled with the course a lot more. When I would try and help them with the course, I realized that I had not learnt the course material as well as I had thought. I think through online courses it is easier to perform well on the assignments because you have access to all the information. I think a lot of people result to online courses to get an easier mark.

How do you feel about the role of distributed learning?

I think that the role of distributed learning should not replace face to face learning but should support it. I definitely think that when you use and create a course online it could be extremely helpful to supplement the course and help students who may need more guidance.

Beam Robot:

The beam robot is a robot that can be controlled by a remote. It is a good tool for students if they are sick and cannot make a class because they are sick and do not want to miss out on a lesson. The beam robot was super cool and technologically advanced.
